  9. Results All 6th graders attended a grade level assembly on bullying and harassment in September. Beforeclassroom guidance lessons 51% of 6th graders could define “bullying” and 68% of students could name 3 strategies for handling bullying behaviors After guidance lessons in October, 89% of 6th graders could define “bullying” and 87% of students could name 3 strategies for handling bullying behaviors

  10. Implications • Many 6th graders were able to identify strategies for dealing with bullying behaviors, but weren’t clear on WHAT bullying behaviors were. • Data needs to be collected on the number of students receiving referrals.The goal is to reduce referrals for bullying behavior.
