How to installEpidata (if you have administratorrights) • Go to internet, enter: http://www.epidata.dkwww.epidata.dk • Go to download/EpiData Entry and /EpiData Analysis and save the two respective setup files to the /tempfolder • Login as administrator, installEpiData entry and EpiData Analysisintothe EpiData folderyoucreatedalready, followingthe instructions and create a quick launchicon

  3. How to installEpidata (if you do not have administratorrights) • Go to the course folder “Software” • Get the zip file and unzip it to any place on your computer (we strongly recommend the root of the drive in which you usually work) • Isn’t that simple?

  10. Unique about EpiData installation • Although windows based, it does not interfere with Windows set-up • All files are placed in a single directory • No trace of *.dll files anywhere in the system • Carry the software in your USB memory stick and start working!

  11. Other things to set up before we begin.. • Set your system languageto English (yourpreferred English) – but set date to dd/mm/yyyy format • Accessing help file • If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 as your operating system, youwillneed to install Microsoft plug-in!

  13. ‘Help’ option is not working • If you have the Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 as your operating system • you need a plug-in to make the help file in EpiData Entry functional • Download a Windows help program • WinHlp32.exe

  14. Determine the Windows version • Windows version • Windows Vista/Windows 7 • 32 bit or 64 bit • How much data can be processed • Speed with which it can be processed • Memory capacity

Download the program • WinHlp32.exe for Windows Vista • http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5143 • WinHlp32.exe for Windows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=91 • Also, this plug-in is already downloaded in your folder “Software” • Double click to install the plug-in (need administrator privileges)

  17. How do you know if you are logged in as administrator?

  18. Check the following.. • Folder “EpiData” in root of the drive to which you have access (commonly C drive) • Folder “epidata_course” in C drive • Folder “temp” in C drive • Quick launch icons in task bar – click and check functionality • Be able to access HELP file
