  2. FAR 61.3 • Current and appropriate pilot certificate and medical certificate is required to be in a pilot’s personal possession or readily available in the aircraft when acting as PIC or required flight crewman

  6. 61.23 • A second-class medical certificate expires for commercial pilot purposes at the end of the last day of the 12th month after the month of the date of examination shown on the certificate

  7. 61.23 • Pilot must hold a category and class rating appropriate to the aircraft being flown • Type rating required for turbo-jet powered airplane or gross weight over 12,500 pounds

  8. 61.23 • Complex aircraft require ground and flight training and a logbook endorsement • High performance aircraft (200 HP) requires a one-time logbook endorsement

  9. 61.23 • Tailwheel aircraft require flight training and a one-time logbook endorsement

  10. 61.51 • Pilot may log second-in-command time all flight time when qualified and occupying a crewmember station in an aircraft that requires more than one pilot

  11. 61.51 • The aeronautical training and experience used to meet the requirements for a certificate rating, or flight review and recent flight experience must be documented i.e. logbook

  12. 61.56 • To act as PIC a commercial pilot must have satisfactorily completed a flight review or proficiency check within the preceding 24 months

  13. 61.57 • If a pilot does not meet the recent night experience requirements, he may not carry passengers during the period 1 hr after sunset to 1hr before sunrise

  14. 61.57 • Night currency requires three takeoffs and three landings to a full stop within the last 90 days in category, class and type if required

  15. 61.58 • To serve as a pilot in command of an airplane that is certificated for more than one pilot crewmember and operated under part 91, a person must have completed a pilot-in-command proficiency check in type within the preceding 12 months

  16. 61.60 • Notify the FAA of change in permanent mailing address within 30 days of moving

  17. 61.69 • To tow gliders you must be at least a private pilot and have a logbook endorsement from an authorized glider instructor certifying receipt of ground and flight training and be proficient

  18. 61.69 • To act as PIC of an airplane towing gliders you must within the preceding 12 months accomplished 3 actual or simulated glider tows while accompanied by a qualified tow pilot

  19. 61.133 • Without an instrument rating commercial pilots cannot carry passengers during the day beyond 50 nm • They cannot carry passengers for hire at night
