3 factors you can control: • Size & structure of playing area • Number of players • Rules Bigger, smaller, zones, goals, no goals, obstacles 1 v 1, 2 v 1, 2 v 2, 2 v 3 4 v 4, 5 v 4, 5 v 5, 5 v 2 Scoring, no tackles, # of passes, points for behaviours Increase or decrease pressure
The behavioural approach What behaviours do I want to encourage or change? How do I force the behaviour?
Cranking up the pressure • No Pressure • Static Drill • Slow speed • In one place • Focus on one thing • Focus on execution • Increase speed, distance, complexity • Limited Pressure • Dynamic Drill • Faster speed • Movement • Focus on skill and environment • Full Pressure (Game) • Small or Full Game • More players • Larger space • More realistic • Rules & goals • Skills within context of game
