  1. UO LibrarySearch Start at the library webpage: http://library.uoregon.edu Choose: just UO, UO+Summit, or UO+Summit+Articles Use “Advanced Search”—log in with your UO credentials Bypass “Articles by Subject” – more details on finding articles in a later slide

  2. Need Articles? Remember to sign in with your UO credentials Use FindText if you have a citation and need the article Looking for article citations? Search a database: good ones are ASFA and Web of Science (hint, choosing “All Databases” in WOS will get you Biosis and Zoological Record citations as well)

  3. FindText Select the “Article” tab if you have a specific citation to track down Don’t abbreviate journal titles You don’t need to fill in all the fields, but do make sure you give all the citation details you have If we have the article electronically you will be directed to that resource, if not the next step is the ILL process and a pdf of the article will be deliverd to your ILLiad account (described a bit later)

  4. Books Green dots mean an item is available in a UO library and the “Get It” link lets you see which library has it or lets you start an interlibrary loan request Refine your search results with the facets on the left hand navigation bar. Scroll towards the bottom and you can limit to the Loyd and Dorothy Rippey Library at OIMB

  5. Books from main campus “Request” link for any main campus book Choose Loyd & Dorothy Rippey Library at OIMB as your delivery location – the book will be placed in your mailbox when it arrives If the item isn’t available at a UO library you can order through Summit or ILL by clicking the blue “Request item” link

  6. Interlibrary Loan There are two ways books come to us from beyond UO: Summit and Interlibrary Loan and in both cases use your Duck ID and 95# number to sign-in Choose Interlibrary Loan only if s Summit option isn’t listed– no need to choose a library, just click on the purple request button’ The first time you use interlibrary loan you will be required to create an ILLiad account Follow the steps as indicated and choose Loyd & Dorothy Rippey Library at OIMB as your delivery location – the book will be placed in your mailbox when it arrives and you will receive articles in pdf format Get to your ILLiad account from the library webpages or this link: https://illiad.uoregon.edu/illiad/oru/
