They are simple mechanical components that play a very important role in various industries. Gears can be defined as mechanical devices that can convert motion and power through the meshing of toothed wheels. There are various types of gear used in various sectors, but in this blog, we will be reading about spur gear only. Spur Gear: What is It and Where it is Used Spur gear or straight-cut gear is one of the most basic types of gear. Spur gears are always shaped cylindrical or disks with teeth projecting radially.
