  1. Before you start the experiment • Please open the excel sheet on the website (labeled cross linguistic video data sheet) and save it locally to your computer • Use the excel sheet to type your responses • Please watch the videos in order from 1 to 12 by clicking on them on the website (the files numbered 1 through 12) • Please download and fill out the consent form (you can type in your information) and return it by email to me (taraneh@udel.edu) along with your completed excel sheet • Instructions for the experiment follow on the next page • Thank you!

Experiment Instructions • You are going to view some videos of a motion event where an object is in some spatial relationship to another object. • For each video, write out in full (in your native language) one sentence of your description of the motion event in terms of the two objects in the second column on the excel sheet under “description”. Please transcribe your responses using the Latin alphabet. Please do not include the original non-Latin script of your language, only the transcribed responses. • The third column is labeled “gloss” and should be used on a second pass through the whole set of items to identify, word by word the elements of your description.
