  4. Logging In Go to http://www.ecri.org, enter your user name and password, and click “Login.”

  5. Member Profile If this is the first time you have logged on, you will be prompted to complete a member profile before proceeding to the HRC home page.

  6. E-Mail Preferences In order to receive HRC Alerts and other membership news, select “Membership News” and be sure to keep your e-mail address up-to-date.

  7. Your ECRI Institute subscriptions are listed here. Click a title to go to that product’s home page. Your ECRI Institute Subscriptions

  9. Risk management Web columns The HRC Home Page From the home page, view HRC’s risk management Web columns—Risk Management Tips, Ask HRC, and Data Snapshots—plus other information about your membership. Web columns are updated weekly.

  10. The HRC Home Page (cont.) The right-hand column of the HRC home page includes links to early-release articles, the HRC Members’ Web site survey, new additions to the HRC Members’ Web site, highlights from the most recent issue of HRC Alerts, and other important resources and announcements.

  11. Risk Analyses Risk Analyses are organized alphabetically by binder tab and alphabetically by title within tabs. Click the + icon to see all the titles in a section, or click “Expand/Collapse All” to expand or collapse all sections.

  12. Print, e-mail, open a PDF copy, or add the Risk Analysis to your saved documents. Risk Analyses (cont.) Read the Risk Analysis from the beginning, or use the links to jump to a specific section or supplementary article. View the executive summary

  13. Use PDFs for printer-friendly versions. Self-Assessment Questionnaires Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs) are listed in alphabetical order. Click a title to see a summary of the SAQ. Then open the PDF or Microsoft Word version to see the entire SAQ. Microsoft Word versions can be customized.

  14. Sample Policies and Tools Browse the entire library of more than 450 sample policies and procedures submitted by HRC member organizations and others, or select a topic heading to narrow your search.

  15. Education and Training Tools HRC’s ready-to-use Training Programs include training guides, slide presentations, attendance sheets, memos, and evaluation forms.

  16. Risk Management Reporter View issues of the newsletter, from the most recent issue back to 2002.

  17. Click “View Summary” for summaries of all the alerts on one screen. HRC Alerts Choose a date to see that issue’s headlines.

  18. Click this link to discuss the Alert with colleagues in the HRC Alerts blog. HRC Alerts (cont.) When appropriate, each Alert includes HRC recommendations, links to HRC resources, and a suggested routing list.

HRC Discussion Forums In our discussion forums, ask how colleagues have approached the challenges you're facing, access tools and other resources they use, discuss the latest news, raise new topics for discussion, and share your own expertise—all through quick, easy online access.   20. Audio Library Use the audio player at the top of the page to pause, stop, adjust volume, skip ahead, or go back. The audio library includes excerpts from interviews with ECRI Institute experts and other resources on a wide variety of topics. Click the title of an audio clip to hear it.

  21. Technology Overviews Technology Overviews provide information on individual healthcare technologies, including the technology’s purpose, principles of operation, reported problems, and purchase considerations.

  22. Hot Topics These pages list all the key HRC resources, including HRC publications and Web exclusives, on risk managers’ most pressing issues.

  23. Environmental Extras This section houses about 150 Web-exclusive articles, SAQs, Training Programs, and other tools on environmental health, security, and worker safety topics.

  24. Risk Management Web Columns Browse archives of HRC’s weekly online columns—Ask HRC, Data Snapshot, and Risk Management Tips.

  25. Search the Site Use the search, always located at the top of the Web site, to search your subscriptions or content from other ECRI Institute programs.

  26. When viewing an article, add it to your saved documents. Click “View All Docs” to see your saved documents. Your Saved Documents Save up to 20 documents on the Web site for future reference.

  27. Password Help • If you need a user name and password or have forgotten your password, e-mail helpdesk@ecri.org or call (610) 825-6000, ext. 5555. • Specify that you are currently an HRC member, and include your name, organization name and address, e-mail address, and phone number. • Most HRC members are entitled to unlimited user names for staff in their facilities.
