Background (Students) • More intensive provision - Full time English programme (20 + 14 hours per week) • 18 out of 20 weeks • Leads to a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL), (F)L1, L1, L2 • Structured pathway to higher level study • Replace IELTS as prerequisite • Free (when SAC funded)

  3. Role of the Programme Leader • Leadership • Academic slant – knowledge and expertise of CEL programme and qualification, NZQA requirements • Direct support role to CEL teachers
