Adjective Phrases • Prepositional phrases that act as adjectives and modify nouns or pronouns. • Ex. The car (with the blue top) is my father’s. Tells which car • Ex. The man (in the blue suit) was handsome. Tells which man
The Adverb Phrase • Prepositional phrases that act as adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. They tell how, when, where, to what extent, and to what degree. • Examples: (At dawn), we drove (across the state line). Tells when and where
