Carbon Footprint • A carbon footprint is the measure of greenhouse gases humans produce during activity • It is not just a measure of the carbon dioxide produce • Fossil fuels used in public transportation throughout the word account for 31% of green house gases • Air travel contributes a smaller carbon footprint the driving

US Facts about Carbon Footprints • The US accounts for 20% of man made greenhouse gases in the atmosphere while only having 5% of the population • On average US citizens produce double the amount of CO2 average for the rest of the world • Everyone from the rich and the poor are to blame for the US’s terrible track record, says an MIT study

  4. Reducing my carbon Footprint • I can walk to more places • I can turn off light when I leavea room • Take public transportstion • Use energy efficient light bulb
