  3. Where are we??

  4. What are we doing in the UK? • Point Europa – UK • Point Europa is working closely with local schools, pre-schools, training centres and gardening experts to provide interesting opportunities for adult learners. • We are putting together a training leaflet which will include details of relevant courses. • We are also organising travel to other partners in order that “members” of the green fingers group can visit other settings and compare activities and results.

  5. Millbrook CEVA Primary School • Built in 1863 • Has approx 126 children • Ages from 4-11 years • Various clubs including: gardening, numerous sports, cooking and more • The aim is to provide a warm caring and friendly environment in which each child is encouraged to reach their potential.  Their motto ‘where every child matters’ underpins all they try to achieve.   All members of the school, children, parents, staff, helpers, carers, are encouraged to see themselves as belonging together in a loving Community, bound together by mutual respect. • Community allotments

  8. Work within the community. • We are also actively working with an organisation that works within the Royal William Yard with people recovering from Mental Health Issues and Aquired Brain Injury. One of the things they do as well as general Horticulture is a vegetable garden and a fruit garden. They are aiming to sell more produce this year in The Stonehouse (local) area, to the residents. They have  also helped to set up a project with some excluded young people from the Youth Offending Service,  through  the Groundwork Southwest  'Generations Together' . This involves bringing these young people into the RWY on a separate day to the Horticultural Healing project.

  9. Kingfishers pre-school • Kingfisher Playgroup opened in 1993 and is run by a parents committee • It cares for approximately 30 children • Ages from 2-4/5 • It focuses on outdoor play, nature and learning through play. • Regular walks take place and visits.
