  2. Who we are… • We are a multicultural program focusing on providing a high quality care for each child in a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment. • We want to recognize individual: • strength develop into an independent, self-motivated, confident child who exhibits compassion and caring towards others.

  3. What we value • At Tiny fingers preschool we believe that education and the care for the children is the core of the community. • We believe the term lead by example and if we want healthy strong adults we must start focusing on our children first. • At this age we can help guide children to learn the fundaments and skills to grow up being healthy adults.

  4. Why tiny fingers? • We use a child-initiated approach to learning. Children are free to engage in specially prepared activities in an environment that encourages exploration. • We believe that if a child is exposed to a variety of activities with a mixed group of mixed ages this will create a challenge for them allowing them to be creative and problem solve which will promote self esteem and independence. • We believe that children, who are exposed to a healthy environment, will give them the opportunity to learn the essentials of goodness and grow up to be healthy functional adults

Where are we located & What we offer • We are located in East Oakland • Age ranges from 2-5 years old • Full day program • Monday-Friday 8:30-6:00pm • Every month Special extra curricular activities are added into our daily routine such as: • Cooking • Special Art projects • Creative Movement (dance, yoga, fitness movements, etc) • We want to promote this at a young age: • Children can use activities that challenge, engage and promote self-esteem and independence. • The child has many opportunities to be creative, problem solve and work on socialization skills and conflict resolution.

  6. Nutrition Policy • At our program we believe that it is vital that we establish a strong balanced meal for our children. In order to help children have a healthier diet, we (parents, caretakers and teachers) should help transition healthier nutritional food into children’s daily diet.

  8. Enrollment • We want our parents to be able to get a sense of the environment that their child will be in. We require that parents sign in for an adult-only observation of a class. • During this 30-40 minute observation, parents have the opportunity to view the class in action and see the children during the Tiny Fingers period. • Please email mylyis.soawesome@tinyfingers.org in advance to schedule an observation.

  9. Enrollment (cont’d) • Tiny Fingers school year is September through August. • Tuition fees are based on a 12-month program and the annual fee is divided into 12 monthly payments. • If you are interested in finding out about our tuition fee, feel free to contact me through email so I can email you a guide for specifics on our program.

  10. Parent involvement • We believe that parents and teachers are the first and foremost influence on their children's development and school success.

  11. Parent involvement (cont’d) • It is essential that: • Parents and staff work closely with each other to be in the children’s life as much as they can to help guide them through the most critical stages in their life. • We encourage parents to volunteer in classrooms at least once every 3 weeks. • If parents are unable to volunteer due to work schedules, then they have the option in contributing another way that shows their presence for their child to see that parents are involved some way such as field trips.

  12. At the end of the day… • We are here for the children!!
