In 1980, Zimbabwe had one of the most advanced economies in sub-Saharan Africa, but by the 1990s, corruption and political turmoil led to significant economic decline. This Expo trip aims to identify 2-3 viable businesses in Zimbabwe that are undercapitalized or lack key skills but have the potential to create employment and social dividends. Identified opportunities include small-scale maize milling, domestic cleaning agent production, metal fabrication, and sugar cane farming. Key insights were gained by meeting influential leaders, paving the way for future investments and collaboration to foster economic renewal.
