  2. Human Services, Recreation, & Housing • Priority Community Groups: • Families with Children & Youth • Older Residents • Northwest and other geographic areas of the City of Pasadena Purpose of the Assessment

  3. Purpose of the Assessment • Support development of resident related data around needs and interests that is linked to resources and can be monitored over time • Reduce duplication of services and improve allocation of resources • Inform and engage community members and service providers to promote collaborative action and incite community change • Assess trends, groups and services providers about service gaps that exist

  4. Purpose of the Assessment Cont. • Build cooperation among community partners • Align resources to provide the most needed services • Establish accountability for moving towards reaching most desired results

  5. Needs Assessment Planning Team • Members of Human Services and Recreation Commissions • Also made up of stakeholders representing: seniors, housing, PUSD, youth service agency and private schools • Met with over 60 community stakeholders in January to learn more about what community service providers wanted to gain from the assessment findings • Establishing quality of life indicators to learn more about users and potential users of services/programs

Survey Period: March 5-23 • Community Survey • Random telephone & cell phone survey • Self-Administered Surveys • Leave-behinds • Survey Saturday (Saturday, March 10th) • Online survey • Stakeholder Survey • Online Survey • Human Services & Recreation Program Participant Survey • Random telephone survey

Community Engagement & Outreach • English/Spanish Flyers home to Parents at ALL PUSD Schools • Media Releases • Survey Saturday • Web Presence (assessment available online) • Correspondence to Stakeholder Groups • Faith-Based Community Outreach • Engagement with Private and Public School Parent Groups • Presence at Community Events • Surveys available at City facilities
