Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov • Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814-1841) was a Russian Romantic writer and poet.Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov was born in Moscow into a  noble family Lermontovs. Up to 16 years the boy lived with his grandmother. In August 1830 Lermontov enrolled in Moscow University's philological faculty. In his lifetime, Mikhail Lermontov published only one slender collection of poems. On July 30, 1841 Lermontov was buried.

  3. His famous works: “Hero of our time”, "Borodino“, "Mtsyri“, "Death of poet“, "Daemon" “A sail”, “Ismail-Bay”, "Cliff“, "Clouds“.

A Sail A Sail A sail shows white at sea aloneIn bright-blue brilliance of sea haze, -What does it look for far from home?Why did it leave its native place?The waves play and strong wind whistles,A mast creaks loudly and sways:Alas, the sail doesn't look for happinessAnd from it doesn't run away! Round the sail streams are brightness,Above it gold sun ray shines;But it, a frantic, looks for typhoons,As though a calm is amid ones!
