  1. Saterlee Hall Proposal By Charger Networking Inc.

  2. CNI’s Task • To design a computer network with as many services possible for the the third floor of Saterlee Hall. Project must include a minimum of: • 2- Computer Labs (50 Computers) & • 15 Offices Total cost of the project not to exceed 100k. Project can propose options for an additional cost.

  3. CNI’s Philosophy & Assumptions • Open Source should be used whenever possible in order to maximize the networks performance and also to minimize costs. • All procurements are eligible for a 15% cost savings based on NYS contracts. • More is Better!!!

  4. Our Design Includes • Two Labs-One PC and one graphics lab, • One Student Workgroup facility & • One Cozy room for relaxed networking.

  6. PC Lab • Contains: • 25 WS and one faculty computer-- Dell PC’s w 80GB HD & 15” FS Monitor & 256 RAM • 2 HP Laser Printers-One Color & One B&W • Video & Overhead projector w screen • 2 Scanners • Smart board • Wireless Gateway

  8. Graphics Lab • Contains: • 19 WS & one faculty computer-- Dell PC’s with 80GB HD & 15” FS Monitor & 512 Ram • 1 Computer with DVD RW capability • 2 HP Laser Printers-One Color & One B&W • Video projector w screen • 2 Scanners • Wireless Gateway

  13. Office Spaces • Dell PC’s one per office. • Centrally located Printers and Scanners • Wireless Capability (printers and scanners also for use by office spaces)

  14. Servers & Software • Cabinet and rack mounted • with 5 Linux (Red Hat) servers: • Web(Apache) with FTP (FTPd) • Boot with NIS+,DHCP • Data (MySQL) • Print (CUPS) • Email (Sendmail)
