  2. Location • The Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift are located in Central Texas.

  3. Precipitation, Temperature and Wind Speed • The precipitation of the Edward Plateau and Llano uplift is 20.1-35 inches. • In the summer the average temperature is 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, and the temperature averages about 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter. • The wind speed in the Edwards Plateau and the Llano Uplift ecoregion is 8.9mph-10.3mph.

  4. Soil Type • There are two different types of soil in the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift ecoregions. • The first type of soil develops under grassland vegetation in the Great Plains region. It is thick, dark colored and rich in organic matter. Very fertile for plant growth because of the content of clay and organic matter. It is considered to be one of the most fertile soils on earth. • The second type of soil in these two ecoregions is a moderately leached soil that has a relatively high native fertility. This soil mainly forms under forests and have a subsurface where clays have accumulated. This soil is primarily found in temperate humid and sub humid regions of the world. Also this soil supports about seventeen percent of the world's population. Leaching is an agriculture term referring to the loss of water-soluble plant nutrients from the soil, due to rain and irrigation.   6. Animals • The Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift have a very diverse population of animals. These animals include Mexican Free-Tailed Bats, the Texas Blind Salamander, Golden Cheeked Warblers, Nine Banded Armadillos, and muskrats.   7. Landforms • In the ecoregions of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift are a very unique set of landforms to be seen. Some of the landforms there are grasslands, springs, which are areas where groundwater flows from the ground to the surface, stony hills, steep canyons, enchanted rock, and the Edwards aquifer.
