  6. Sequoia National Park is an American national park in the southern Sierra Nevada in California. It was founded in 1890 with an area of 1,635 km2. The difference between the highest and lowest point of the park is almost 4,000 m. On its territory lies the highest peak of the continuous part of the USA - Mount Whitney, with a height of 4,421 m. The park is notable for its giant sequoia trees. The most famous is General Sherman's tree. It is the largest tree in the world in terms of wood volume. It grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five of the largest trees in the world. Most of the park consists of wild nature without roads. 84 % of Sequoia and the neighboring Kings Canyon National Parks is reserved as wilderness, accessible only on foot or by horse. UNESCO designated the area in 1976 as the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Biosphere Reserve. El Parque nacional de las Sequoias es un parque nacional estadounidense en el sur de Sierra Nevada en California. Fue fundada en 1890 con una superficie de 1.635 km2. La diferencia entre el punto más alto y el más bajo del parque es de casi 4.000 m. En su territorio se encuentra el pico más alto de la parte continua de los EE. UU. - Mount Whitney, con una altura de 4.421 m. El parque destaca por sus secuoyas gigantes. El más famoso es el árbol del general Sherman. Es el árbol más grande del mundo en términos de volumen de madera. Crece en el Bosque Gigante, que contiene cinco de los árboles más grandes del mundo. La mayor parte del parque se compone de naturaleza salvaje sin carreteras. El 84 % de los parques nacionales de Sequoia y los vecinos Kings Canyon está reservado como silvestre, accesible solo a pie o a caballo. Ten je podľa objemu dreva najväčším stromom na svete. Rastie v oblasti Giant Forest, v ktorej sa nachádza päť z najväčších stromov sveta. Väčšinu parku tvorí divoká príroda bez ciest. 84 % národných parkov Sequoia a susediaceho Kings Canyon je ponechaných ako divočina, prístupná len pešo alebo na koni. UNESCO označilo oblasť v roku 1976 za Biosférickú rezerváciu Sequoia-Kings Canyon.
