  2. The Comedy of Errors Mistaken identity plays a huge role in this play and causes all of the mayhem. Antipholus of Syracuse and Ephesus, twin brothers separated at birth, wind up at the same place many years later causing the brother’s spouses, servants and friends to be in confusion thus adding comic entertainment. http://images.broadwayworld.com/upload/30470/Boys%20from%20Syracuse%203.JPG

  3. The Comedy of Errors "Methinks you are my glass, and not my brother: I see by you I am a sweet-fac'd youth;" -Dromio E. (5.1) “We came into the world like brother and brother; And now let's go hand in hand, not one before another."- Dromio E. - 5.1 http://images.broadwayworld.com/upload/31045/BOYS%20FROM%20SYRACUSE-%20(L-R)%20Ryan%20Reilly%20and%20Andrew%20Keltz%20(low%20res).JPG

  4. Twelfth Night In this play the character Viola wears men’s clothing causing her to be confusedfor her brother Sebastian. Meanwhile, Sebastian is mistakenfor a girl, thus heightening the conflict and causing drama and humor to be prevalent. http://journal.sarahcada.com/uploaded_images/Twelfth-night-702823.jpg Only when the two characters come together in front of everyone as their true selves does the situation become solved.

  5. Twelfth Night “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.” ~Act II Scene 5 “Foolery, sir, does walk about the orb like the sun; it shines everywhere.” ~Act III Scene 1

  6. A Midsummer Night's Dream In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, when Oberon tells Puck to put love potion on the Athenian youth, he mistakes the identity and puts it on the wrong youth. This causes Lysander to change the object of his love from Hermia to Helena. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Km-cfH9BHhM/SYB4bpZvmOI/AAAAAAAAAX4/0MdsXcJ1VsA/s400/A-Midsummer-Nights-Dream-Poster-C12044865.jpeg

  7. A Midsummer Night's Dream “The course of true love never did run smooth.” ~Lysander Act 1.1 “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind.” ~Hermia Act 1.1 http://languageandlit.com/images/mnd99movie.jpg

  8. Taming of the Shrew Mistaken Identity does not play a major role in Taming of the Shrew, but is prevalent when all of Bianca’s suitors try to win her affection. Some dress up as scholars, switch places with their servants, and act as Latin and music teachers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:10_Things_I_Hate_About_You_film.jpg

  9. Taming of the Shrew "Forward, I pray, since we have come so far,And be it moon, or sun, or what you please. And if you please to call it a rush candle,Henceforth I vow it shall be so for me." ~Act 4.5 http://psp.88000.org/18__Blue_Jay_Closeup.htm “What, is the jay more precious than the lark,Because his feathers are more beautiful?” ~Act 4.3 http://images.elfwood.com/art/d/u/dufresne/moon_and_sun.jpg
