  3. Hotel Safety Do not place door hangers on your door knob that indicate you are out If you take valuables with you, store them in the hotel’s security vault Do not give out your room number (callers should ask for you by name)

  4. Destination Safety Be cautious in crowded public areas such as beaches, busy sidewalks, and city buses Pickpockets, often children, work in groups with one distracting you while another grabs your purse or wallet. Do not carry a purse with a shoulder strap (thieves in Rio cut purse straps with a knife before you realize what just happened)
