In response to the limitations of traditional professional development, we are excited to introduce Professional Development Cohorts (PDCs) aimed at fostering collaboration, differentiation, and teacher-led initiatives. PDCs will consist of organized, yearlong cohorts that provide half-day sessions monthly, allowing teachers to choose their pathway based on interests, educational needs, and district goals. Each cohort will be led by teachers who will select the topics and lead the development process, ensuring that professional growth is relevant, continuous, and beneficial for the entire school community.

Our Current Situation • One size fits all • Large group meetings • No time to collaborate • Top down • No choice
Survey of Current Situation Strengths - Welcome Back Rally - Building specific - Not whole district Areas for Improvement - Considerations for specialists - Time to implement learning - Choices for topics
What does research say? The best professional development is: • In-depth • Yearlong • Focused on one topic • Peer led
Our Goal: • Differentiation • Choices • Time • Collaboration
