How is Math Administered? • May 22-24 (make up June 4th-7th) • 82 multiple-choice questions • Asked in word form (word problems) • Administered in two parts: • Calculator Active (54 questions) • Calculator Inactive (28 questions)

Math Strategies • Read the question first • Stop and think • (what is it asking me to solve?) • Re-read as necessary • Look for key math terms • (in all, each, how many more, twice as many, groups etc…) • Underline the information you need to solve the problem • (DON’T underline the whole question) • WORK OUT EVERY PROBLEM, • show all of your work • Choose the best answer choice • (go question by question till you find the answer)

What is on the Reading EOG Test? • The test consists of eight reading selections. • With six to nine related questions for each selection • Each student is asked to read: • four literary selections (two fiction, one nonfiction, one poem) • three informational selections (two content and one consumer) • The variety of selections on each form allows for the assessment of reading for various purposes: for literary experience, to gain information, and to perform a task.
How is Reading Administered? • May 22-24 (make up June 4th-7th) • Administered in one day • Consists of 50 questions (plus 8 field test items) • Multiple test forms

Reading Strategies • Read the questions first • Read the passage/poem • Underline where you found the answer in the story, then give the number of the question • Use the “X” out strategy to eliminate answer choices • Look for the KEY WORDS and RE-READ as necessary • Watch out for ‘probably’ and ‘how did he/she feel?’ questions
