Pedagogical Objectives: • To analyse the appropriateness and selection of Ken Carter as the new coach for Richmond High School’s poorly performing basketball team (his personal and professional background, his credentials to add value, etc.) • To discuss and debate on the vision, strategy and tactics of Ken Carter as a coach and mentor and articulate the desirable qualities of an effective change agent • To analyse the leadership style of Ken Carter using the frameworks of Daniel Goleman, Jim Collins and David Ulrich, among others, and debate on the appropriateness of different leadership styles for different change management initiatives.

Pedagogical Objectives: • To analyse the psychology and circumstantial necessity of a selfless and non-obligatory change initiative • To study the characteristics of successful change agents especially in trying to change individual behaviour • To understand the style and substance of change initiatives meant for Will Hunting who is focused and never gives in to even the best of the logical reasoning and emotional appeal

Pedagogical Objectives • To examine the role of a social change agent in the light of the movie’s characters – Leigh Anne Tuohy and others – and debate on the motives, motivational factors and characteristics of such social change agents • To distinguish and understand the importance of coaching (including talent management) and mentoring in transformation and highlight the contributions made by Leigh Anne Tuohy, Sean Tuohy, Bert Cotton, SJ and others • To highlight the extent and persistence of damaging effects of racism and the social outcasts, especially in the US and to highlight the positive effects of social change agents’ interventions.
