  2. Roller coasters are one of the most thrilling rides ever made. They make your heart race and your blood freeze with anticipation. They create many fears, then overcome them with incredible fun. Its powerful, and very addicting.

  3. The History of the Roller Coaster The very first roller coaster was built in 1780. Back then, they were called scream machines. They were first in Russia. The car hauled up the hill by mules, and went down ice covered mountains. The people had to hike up 5 stories of stairs to get to the top. The first roller coaster that was built in the United States was in Coney Island in the 1990’s. John Miller introduced the first under friction roller coaster.

  4. Did You Know?... Below are ten fun and interesting facts about roller coasters: • There was a man who didn’t talk for six years because of shell shock, then after riding Coney Island Cyclone he told his friend “I feel sick.” • There used to be a roller coaster track that people could drive their car on • There used to be a roller coaster that jumped a gap • Some items found under roller coasters includes glass eyes and fake legs • The tallest roller coaster is 225 feet tall. • The 2nd tallest wooden roller coaster is 175 feet tall • The fastest roller coaster is 80 miles per hour • A roller coaster in Hershey Park called Storm Runner goes from 0-72mph in 2 seconds • A roller coaster in Hershey Park called Fahrenheit has a 97 degree angle that you go up then straight down • There are only 7 roller coasters reaching 200 feet tall For more fun facts on roller coasters, click here

  8. I have recently gotten over my fears of roller coasters last year when I was taken to Hershey Park. I went on every roller coaster ride in the park including Fahrenheit and Storm Runner. The first one I ever went on went upside down so I was terrified. Once it did the first loop I was relaxed and I had a great time.
