This text delves into the complex factors of nationality, ethnicity, and culture, exemplified by the tragic case of Soon Ja Du, who fatally shot 15-year-old Latasha Harlins over a $2 dispute. The footages of the incident and Du's subsequent lenient sentencing sparked racial tensions in Los Angeles, mirroring deeper societal issues. Questions arise about the roles of history and psychological factors that influence such profoundly impactful decisions. The narrative also speculates on societal changes under a hypothetical shift in leadership, prompting discussions about justice and equity.

Latasha died with $2 in her hand. Du faced a possible 16 year sentence in state prison. A judge sentenced her to probation, saying she was in fear from earlier robberies.
