The Wisconsin Quality Improvement and Accreditation Project (WIQI) held its MLC3 Kick-off Meeting in August 2008. This initiative, led by the Institute for Wisconsin’s Health and the Wisconsin Division of Public Health, aims to prepare local health departments (LHDs) for national accreditation by engaging communities to enhance their health services. With 14 local project partners, the goals include creating a community of practice, developing a robust quality improvement process, and achieving full accreditation for all Wisconsin LHDs by 2013. Key objectives involve assessing LHDs, utilizing a self-assessment tool, and reducing health risks among youth.
