  1. Teacher’s Guide to EDLounge The Basics

  2. Introduction To use this guide, you must first be logged into your teacher admin on EDLounge. All of the steps explained start from the first page you see after logging in as a Teacher. On the next page you will be presented with 8 options, select an option to find out more information about that topic. You can go back to the options menu at any time by pressing the home button usually located at the bottom left of each page.

  3. Select a Topic Review / Manage Student Remove Student Assign Lessons Create Student Mark a Students Work Check Students Performance And Progress Check Students Attendance Reward Students

  4. Create a Student To begin, click the Users button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  5. Create a Student After the menu has dropped down, click on the “Create Pupil” text to access the pupil creation page.

  6. Create a Student • This is the page that is used to create a new student account on EDLounge. • There are options to include information about any SEN that a student may have. • With any system, the more information that you can give it, the better it will perform; but the bare minimum needed to get a student up and running is: • First Name • Last Name • Year Group • Override Username • Override Password • After you have filled in all the information in the fields, click Save Changes to create the new student account.

  7. Review / Manage a Student To begin, click the Users button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  8. Review / Manage a Student After the menu has dropped down, click on the “Manage Pupils” text to access the manage users page.

  9. Review / Manage a Student This is the page that loads after clicking “Manage Pupils”. To review the information of any student simply find their name in the list or use the filtering options at the top of the page to filter by the year / gender etc of the pupil. After you have found the pupil you want to review the information for in the list. Simply click the pencil and paper icon underneath the edit column that corresponds to that student.

  10. Review / Manage a Student This page may be familiar, it is in the same layout as the “create a student” page from earlier in the guide. Except now it has all of the information pre-filled in that corresponds to the student that you chose to manage on the previous page. In here you can change and amend any information related to a student. You can change their password or their username. Set up / update predicted grades and a whole host of other options. If you decide to update any information make sure you click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page to save the changes you have made to our database.

  11. Remove a Student To begin, click the Users button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  12. Remove a Student After the menu has dropped down, click on the “Manage Pupils” text to access the manage users page.

  13. Remove a Student To remove a user from your account, simply find their name in the list and click the corresponding Cross icon underneath the delete column in the table. At this time you are unable to delete students en-masse as this would cause security issues. For example if a student was to get access to a teachers account and the mass delete option was available they could choose to delete every student from your schools ID on EDLounge.

  14. Lessons General Pathway Specific Pathway Timetable Pathway

  15. General Pathway To begin, click the Pathways button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  16. General Pathway After the menu has dropped down and revealed all of its options, click on the “General Path” text to continue.

  17. General Pathway You will be presented with a page that looks similar to this one. To assign a general pathway to an individual student, find the students name in the list and click on the icon underneath the Pathway heading that corresponds to that student.

  18. General Pathway General Pathways are intended as a quick fix for when you need to get a student up and running with some lesson content in a short period of time or with little planning. In General Paths the lessons are added on a subject / year level basis. For example if you wanted to give a student some Year 1 Science lessons and Year 9 Maths lessons you would click the “Y1” button under the Science section and the “Y9” button under the Maths section

  19. General Pathway After selecting which lessons you want in the students pathway they will appear to the left of the subjects. You can move the lessons in this list into any order or you can randomise their order. If you want to remove a specific lesson from the list simply click the tick box to the right of the lesson and click on the “Remove selected lessons” button. As soon as the lessons are in the list to the left they are automatically saved to the students pathway.

  20. Specific Pathway To begin, click the Pathways button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  21. Specific Pathway After the menu has dropped down and revealed all of its options, click on the “Create Pathway” text to continue.

  22. Specific Pathway You will be presented with a page that looks similar to this one. It is important to enter the Path Name and any Objectives that you have for this pathway into the boxes provided first. After you have entered those details you can click on the name of any of the subjects that we offer to expand them and reveal further information. Enter Path Name Here First Enter Objective Here Second

  23. Specific Pathway In this example I have expanded the Maths section of the page. This shows that we currently offer Maths content from Year 1 to Year 11. Clicking on one of the years will expand the menu even further allowing you to see the individual lessons that we offer within each year. Enter Path Name Here First Enter Objective Here Second

  24. Specific Pathway In this example I have expanded the Maths Year 4 section of the page. It is possible to preview the content of each lesson if you are not sure if a lesson will be appropriate for the students that you are targeting. To do this simply click on the name of any of the lessons and the lesson-preview page will load allowing you to go through the lesson and look at all the content as if you were a student. Enter Path Name Here First Enter Objective Here Second

  25. Specific Pathway To specify which individual lessons that you want to go into a specific pathway. Simply click their corresponding tick box. Note: This can be done for multiple subjects and multiple years even within the same subject. Once you are happy with your selection, click the “Save & Continue” button. Enter Path Name Here First Enter Objective Here Second

  26. Specific Pathway This is the page that allows you to review your pathway and order it in any sequence that you would like, much like how it works in General Paths. Once you are happy with the order of your pathway click “Save & Continue” again.

  27. Specific Pathway This is the final step after creating your pathway. It is not necessary as the pathway will be saved as you get to this step but this allows you to assign your pathway to one or multiple students if you require. To assign the pathway to students simply click the tick box next to the name or names of the students that you want and click the “Apply Changes to User Pathways” button.

  28. Timetable Pathway To begin, click the Pathways button on the top bar of the rows of icons. This will drop down and open a sub-menu.

  31. Timetable Pathway After clicking create new timetable, this template will appear. A timetable can be created from a group of Specific Paths that you already have saved, from a year of lessons from a certain subject or a combination of both. To select a pathway that you have created previously click on the radio button in the period that you would like to set the pathway to be done at. Name your timetable here

  32. Timetable Pathway In this example I have chosen Monday at 9AM to be the period that I want to set one of my pre-created specific pathways to be completed at. After clicking the radio button, a dropdown list will appear below it. Click this dropdown list to reveal all the pathways that you have previously created using the Specific Pathways method. When you are happy with your selection you can repeat the process for any period on the timetable. Name your timetable here

  33. Timetable Pathway The other method in timetable pathways is the assignment of a batch of lessons from a specific year of a subject. In this example I have clicked the radio button marked “Subject” in the Thursday 1PM timetable period. After clicking the radio button I have clicked the drop down menu to reveal the different subjects that EDLounge currently offer. After selecting a subject, the dropdown box underneath will allow you to select which year you would like the lessons on that subject to be taken from. Name your timetable here

  34. Timetable Pathway When you are happy with your timetable click the “Create Timetable” button. A page similar to this will appear after you do so.
