Graduation Requirements • English- 4 years (every term) • Social Studies- 4 years (every term) • Lab Science- 4 years (every term) • Foreign Language – 3 years (four terms at Bronx Science if advanced in junior high/ proficiency exam) • Math- 3 years (6 terms) recommended to take four years • Physical Education- 4 years (every term) • Technical Drawing or Sophomore Research-1 year (2 terms) • Health, Music, Art, STL, Research Lit, Freshman Writing (1 term each) • 1st Elective Math or Science- 1 year (2 terms) • 2nd Elective in any 5th major class- 1 year (2 terms)

Graduation Requirements Cont’d Students must take and pass Five Majors each term Students enrolled in Honors Science have a double period of Science and are exempted from Research Literacy and Writing Workshop requirements Regents must be passed in English, Global History, U.S. History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math A and Math B and Foreign Language You can not advance in a Major subject, Technical Drawing or Physical Education during summer school Students who fail a major class and do not attend summer school must take a sixth major the following year (make-up class does not count as a fifth major) Students may not receive credit for the same academic course twice Students who fail either the first or second term of any subject must attend summer school

  5. Typical Freshman Program Taking at least one year of performing music or chorus in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade exempts you from Music Appreciation. * Students in honors science are exempt from the Research Literacy and Writing Workshop requirements.
