JAST aims to extend cognitive science by creating jointly-acting autonomous systems that collaborate intelligently on tasks. Consortium partners include academic institutions from Netherlands, Germany, Greece, UK, and Portugal. The multidisciplinary team covers various disciplines such as neurocognitive science, robotics, psycholinguistics, and more. JAST focuses on a common scenario, construction tasks, state-of-the-art starting conditions, and beyond-state-of-the-art goals in perception-action, learning, and planning. 2e: State-of-the-art starting conditions:Demonstrator-Hardware • Two directly cooperating arms.A third arm may be used for holding aggregates • Assembly without any fixtures orspecialised tools • A rich set of action primitives(motor, sensor, sensorimotor) hasbeen implemented for positioning,grasping, assembling, disassembling,goal-directed motion under collisionavoidance, etc. • Robust recognition and manipulationof parts in all positions • 3 Robots, 10 colour cameras (partlyarticulated)
