Welcome Back to BETAs: Officer Elections and Upcoming Service Projects

We are excited to welcome everyone back! The BETAs have begun officer elections with candidates for President including Garphil Juilen and Isaac Park. Jordan Wood (Vice President) and Derric Fray (Secretary) are unopposed. Stephanie Weiss will serve as Administrative Assistant. We have urgent volunteer opportunities at Keheley Elementary on September 4 and upcoming Fall Festivals in October. Don’t forget to sign up for the ongoing Beta Buddies program to support our community and make a difference!

  2. Officer elections • President Candidates: • GarphilJuilen • Isaac Park • Vice President (unopposed): • Jordan Wood • Secretary (unopposed) • Derric Fray • Administrative Assistant (by appointment) • Stephanie Weiss

  3. Upcoming service projects • September 4 – URGENT – Keheley Elementary is hosting a parent information night and needs 10 volunteers for childcare at 6:00pm (arrive by 5:45).   4. Ongoing service project • Beta Buddies – each student should sign up TODAY to help a teacher. Remember, you only have to do one hour with your Beta buddy, but they will appreciate more if you can give it. Once you sign up with a teacher, it is up to you to approach that teacher and ask how you can help!!

  5. Other ideas? • We should try to focus our attention on our school community • Kell – Relay for Life, SWAL, canned food drive, etc • Feeder schools – Blackwell, Chalker, Keheley, Nicholson, McCleskey, Palmer • Local non-profit causes - ?

  6. Next meetings • We will meet the last school Tuesday of every month at 7:45 and 3:45 (unless announced otherwise) • September 25 • October 30 • November 27 • no December meeting – 1st semester hours due 12/14 • January 29 • February 26 • March 26 • April 30 • no May meeting – 2nd semester hours due 5/10
