  6. Heading The heading contains the address of the writer and the date.

  7. Inside Address The inside address is name or title of the person to whom you are writing along with the company name and address.

  8. Salutation The salutation is the same as the greeting. Remember, in a business letter, the salutation is followed by a colon ( : ).

  9. The body is the main part of the letter. It’s what you say to the reader. Body

  10. The closing is the word you use to sign off. It is always followed by a comma. Appropriate closings include: Sincerely, Yours Truly, Truly Yours, and Respectfully. Closing

  11. Your signature is your signed, handwritten name. It is followed by your typed name, just in case you have messy handwriting! Signature
