Why not make a start! • Set up 12 files, one for each standard. • Each file has three sub-sections • Knowledge • Skills • Dispositions
Using the language of the Standards. • The following task is best done in groups of three or four. • You are required to ‘asses’ your evidence in relation to the standards. • Sharing your judgments with your group is a great way to learn about NPST.
Choose a Sample of Evidence. • A lesson plan • A unit plan • A piece of assessment. • Or?
Task. • Choose the standard which most directly refers to your evidence. • Which indicator in this standard is most appropriate? • Now choose the knowledge, skill and dispostion which relate most closely to your evidence. • Where does your evidence best fit in the “Evidence Guide”?
Annotation (for this workshop only). Sample Standard to which this piece of evidence most closely relates. 2 Indicator. A range of teaching and learning strategies are used to create learning experiences that make subjects meaningful for students. Knowledge/skill demonstrated. Customisation of teaching and learning strategies and resources to meet the needs of specific students and learning contexts. Description of My Practice. In this unit of work on cars, I have chosen reading material which best suits the interests of the boys in my classes. It demonstrates my ability to use group teaching methods. My lesson plans shows how I have matched my teaching to meet the needs of three different learning styles. My assessment demonstrates how the reading performance of most of the boys has been improved. For those whose reading has not improved I have shown how I have arranged for different approaches involving parents. This unit also shows how I have employed ICT skills to enhance both my teaching and student learning.
