Home Folder & Planner Planners: • Are meant to foster independence with homework management • A tool for students and parents • A means of reviewing daily lessons and reinforcing learning • Will begin to help with time management of long-term reports and presentations We use ‘Home’ folders to add structure and organization to our daily routine. • Newsletters • PTA announcements • Activities flyers • Corrected work • Homework • Office forms Please look for the HOME folder and planner each day and assist your child in maintaining order in their “Home” folder

I also post polls and invite your comments & questions ! • Email: epatterson@lwsd.org Best for brief, simple communication. • Phone: 425-936-2720 ext. 7233 Useful for exchanging/gathering of information, gives opportunity to clarify and reflect together. • Meeting: before or after school Ideal for discussing complex or sensitive issues; provides opportunity for brainstorming and collaboration.

  18. Important Details… • Snack Students have a few minutes after AM recess to have a healthy snack. The class will not have an “emergency” snack supply, so it is your decision as a family to decide what is best for your student. • Birthdays We will celebrate birthdays as a class by recognizing students during our morning meetings as students wish. In support of our district nutrition policy, please observe healthy “birthday treat” policies and bring them during snack time (10:45) or the end of the day.

  20. Visiting Opportunities • I welcome parent visitors in our classroom! • Lunch with your student can be fun! • If your schedule permits, eating lunch with your child can be a fun treat. You may purchase school lunch or bring your own from home. • Contact the main office to check-in before entering the lunch room and check out if you plan to go off-campus for lunch
