  2. A Healthy Diet • A healthy diet should contain grain, vegetables, fruits, milk, and meat & beans. • The recommended calorie intake for females is 1,940 and 2,550 for men. • How many calories are needed each day can vary greatly depending on lifestyle and other factors.

  3. Fast Food Diet • Fast food diets are quick and easy but really bad for your health. • One Big Mac at McDonalds provides half of your daily value for saturated fats, 45% for total fats, and contains trans fats, which raises the risk of heart disease. • Fast food raises bad cholesterol (LDL) and lowers (HDL) good cholestrol.

  4. Effects of a Healthy Diet • Proper body function and weight is maintained. • Reduces the risk of developing high blood pressure and lower an elevated blood pressure. • Also reduces risks of many chronic conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer.

  5. Effects of Fast food • Diabetes and obesity risks are increased • Muscle loss and increased heart rate. Trans fats coming from fast foods clog arteries which increase risks of heart problems. • Cholesterol can be greatly increased.

  6. Summary • The overall effects of dieting on fast food poses major health risks like diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, and obesity. • A healthy diet reduces risks of all the health issues listed above.
