  8. Thesis: There should be an limit on how much homework a teacher can give during a class. • Argument 1: Limiting homework saves students and teachers time. • Opposing View: Teachers lose some of the control over their own class. • Refutation: However, giving some control will make the teacher more available for help instead of so much grading and assigning. • Argument 2: Limiting homework allows students more time for extracurricular activities. • Opposing View: School should be more important than extracurricular activities. • Refutation: Students who participate wouldn’t fall so behind due to less homework. • Argument 3: Limiting homework helps students become healthier due to less stress. • Opposing View: Less homework means less responsibility for their work. • Refutation: They wouldn’t lose all their homework, so they still must be responsible for the stuff they still need to do. • Argument 4: Limiting homework doesn’t take away the education students are receiving. • Opposing View: Homework allows students to have more practice with the information they are being taught. • Refutation: Doing a lot of homework doesn’t necessarily proved you have learned the material, just that you completed the assignment.
