  1. Tour around Guangdong Leon LiHSFZ 李 响 高一(9) 21 After paying a visit to the underground cave, perhaps you would like to go somewhere outside and breathe the fresh air. Now it’s time for the “Dinghu Hill”, a national nature park. The hill is a pearl in south China, covered with a greenish overcoat made of numerous trees and edgeless grassland. Every breath you suck into your lung is like chewing the sweetest candy made of honey and ripe cherry. Your soul is washed anew by the gentle breeze and the tender sunshine. Birds would chat and whistle, greeting the guests from far away lands; butterflies dance harmoniously like expert dancers; wild and gigantic trees would take you to the place where you will hear nothing but your heart beating. What makes the hill alive and carries the tourists away is the gel-like lake it possesses. Calm as the mirror it could be, silent as a shy and sheer maid it is, laden with transparence of fairtales. You may feel lost in the woods somehow, don’t be anxious. Here mother nature will direct you to a place of relaxation and recreation. Our first destination will be the “Seven Star Crag”. It’s a wonderland to look from the inside. Here you can release your imagination, and think of whatever changeable images you have in your mind. For the stones in the cave are in astonishing shapes. Most of those surprising stones are like pillars, thicker than the tree-trunks, taller than the giraffes. They don’t grow straight up to the top of the cave actually, instead, they twist and curve as they grow, just like what the tails of monkeys do. Some seem to be mimicing snakes, they lift up their heads high above the ground with their base piled up with stones. Some turn out to be like fat boys, with large lumpy bellies and small funny heads. Some look like eagles, with enormous wings wide spread, ready to take off. Some may be connected with each other, forming twins which are like brothers and sisters. Some have special surface and freckly facial looks, so they would eagerly glisten and glitter like diamonds and crystal in the dark. Marvelous and gracious it is as you walk through this wonderland. Have you ever wondered what the paradise is like? Have you ever thought of experiencing our mother nature? Have you ever listened to the birds’ twittering instead of the roaring of automobiles? Have you ever stared at the pure blue sky where it is dustless? Let’s set out, stay far away from the clamour of cities and tour around the fascinating Guangdong province. The one-day trip would be brief, for there are certainly many more places of interests and wonders in this magnificent land that you haven’t discovered yet. I have just taken you to the places where you can stand side by side with nature, and be a part of it. The amazing performance of nature is best shown right here in Guangdong.
