  2. Some important facts about float Collars Have you ever been to petroleum or oil fields? If yes, you might have seen collars that float in the case. These are the equipment known as float collars. These collars are an important part of the entire setup as they guide the casing to immerse and set in the hole easily. It also ensures the quality of cementing. These float collars are widely used in several areas, for instance in the lower section of the well. The reason behind this is to help in decreasing strain that is exerted by the fluid on the derrick while it is packaged past bog zones.

There is a float shoe that is attracted to the setup which is also important because it contains a back pressure valve that ensures no liquid flows through the casing when the pipe is released lower in the hole. But in this article, we will be discussing more about the float collars and will touch up the important points regarding the collars.

  4. Case running This is one of the operations in which float collars play an important role. As we have already discussed the set-up remains the same where it is attached through casing string and then inserted in the wellbore. During this process, the derrick supports the entire weight of the top portion making it sturdy. There are a few more connections that are made in the wellbore to feed it with extra support. All the float collars have a backpressure valve that displaces the reservoir fluid. This is important because if this fluid stays here, it will flow up the bore and enter the casing.

  5. Cementing The next most important process is cementing. In this operation, you seal and secure the entire head position. Or we can say the top position of the casing string. In many places, these strings are referred to as conductor casings. When a cement unit is incorporated into the entire system, the slurry pumps displace all the cement downwards through the bore.
