2. What is Acne & Pimple and its types Acne & Pimple: - Acne is also called acne vulgaris, it is long term skin disease. Acne occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It is most common in teenagers. It commonly occurs during puberty, when the fatty glands activate, but it can come at any age. It is not dangerous but it can leave the marks on the skin. It causes Blackheads, Whiteheads and Pimples. It affects 3 in every 4 people aged 11 to 30 years. Effective acne treatment is possible, but acne may come continuously. Genetics is the primary cause of acne in 80% of cases. The role of diet and cigarette smoking in the condition is unclear, and neither cleanliness nor exposure to sunlight appears to play a part. In both sexes, hormones called androgens appear to be part of the underlying mechanism, by causing increased production of sebum. 6. Papules:- A papule can have distinct or indistinct borders. It can appear in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. Papules are often called skin lesions, which are essentially changes in your skin’s color or texture. Sometimes, papules cluster together to form a rash. In most cases, papules are not serious. Depending on the cause of the papule, such as a wart, it can be relieved with home treatments. Pustules:- Pustules are small bumps on the skin that contain fluid or pus. They usually appear as white bumps surrounded by red skin. These bumps look very similar to pimples, but they can grow quite big. Pustules may develop on any part of the body, but they are most commonly form on the back, chest, and face. They may be found in clusters in the same area of the body. Pustules may be a form of acne typically caused by hormonal imbalances or hormonal changes in the body. This is a very common skin condition, particularly among teenagers and young adults. 7. Nodules are large, deep and painful bumps that for the most part are under the surface of the skin. There may be a firm, rounded reddish bump on the surface but the bump can also be flesh-colored. A nodule is hard to the touch and is very sensitive and painful. Acne cysts (or cystic acne) consist of deep, pus-filled lesions that look similar to boils. They are usually painful and can cause scarring. Sizes of acne cysts range from as small as a pencil eraser to much larger. Going easy to be confused about whether a specific severe breakout is cystic acne or nodular acne. The two acne conditions are similar, both are severe, and both should be treated by a dermatologist. Cysts:- Cystic acne is the most serious type of acne. It develops when cysts form deep down your skin. This can result from a combination of bacteria, oil, and dry skin cells that get trapped in your pores. Although anyone can develop acne, cystic acne tends to occur in people with oily skin.
