  3. Workshop Goals • Take the confusion out of 4-H record books. • Help 4-H Members, Leaders & Parents transition from old Record Books to new Record Books. • Answer questions about the new format.

  4. Workshop Guidelines • Please ask clarification questions. • Be prepared to take this information back to your clubs.

  5. Purpose of 4-H Records • Reflect on yearly work completed. • Maintain records of project and club work. • Demonstrate growth and measure achievement across years in 4-H. • Improve written communication skills.

  6. Purpose of 4-H Records • Learn time management and organizational skills. • Learn responsibility and develop goal setting skills.

  7. Record Book Incentives • Sell a market animal at Junior Livestock Show, Lassen Fair, Intermountain Fair or Tulelake Butte Valley Fair. • Participate in Countywide 4-H events. • Earn year pins & service stripes. • Earn star ranks. • Earn project pins.

  9. New 4-H Record Book • Regular 4-H members (9-19 years old) • Required for members submitting to Sectional/State competition. Forms available at http://ca4h.org or www.cemodoc.ucdavis.edu

  16. Pre-Activity • Write which category number you think each item should be placed under on the new PDR. • Mark N/A if the item does not belong on the PDR. • Record your answers to the left side of the line.
