  2. What is a Record Book? • A Record Book is a assortment of everything you did in the past year. • It is almost like a scrapbook.

  3. Why Record Books? • Keeps a record of your work. • It is a lifelong memory • It is a requirement for clover awards

  4. Things to include in your Record Book. • My project report form • Project book and educational materials • Photos with captions • Project story • Project report scoresheet

  5. Project Reports • Must have a story, add as much detail as you can. • Answer questions like… • What did you learn? • How did you feel about the project? • Did anything funny happen? • What life skills did you gain? • How will you use these skills in the future?

  6. How do I make a Record Book? • A binder • Pictures • Agendas • Newsletters • Art Supplies

  7. Be Creative! You can… • Mount pictures • Draw pictures • Use colored paper • Use stickers • Use different color markers, crayons, and pencils

  8. Make sure… • You pay attention to grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. Age level and 4-H experience will be taken into consideration. • 4-Hers must fill out their own reports in their own handwriting. NEATNESS COUNTS! • You fill in all the blanks. If an answer does not apply, write in n/a.

  9. Remember… • You can have your project book or portfolio reviewed on a non-competitve basis. • Secretary and treasurer records can count as project report books. • Multiple project reports need to be in different project areas. • Signatures are REQUIRED! • Record Books are due to the 4-H office by 4:00pm on May 27, 2014. • Don’t wait. Start now!
