Second Floor Access Restriction • The second floor will be closed every Tuesday during lunch beginning March 17. • You will only be allowed on the second floor if you have a pass from a teacher. • If you have a signed white pass from a teacher, you must present it to the teacher or administrator who will be located at the bottom of each stairway.
Post Prom Challenge • James River is competing against Midlothian and Monacan in the Post Prom Challenge to win a $1000 of free food for Post Prom. Whichever school rings up the most meals on three designated nights at Qdoba, wins! • The results from Round 1: JRHS is in THIRD PLACE! L • What we need you to do: • 1. SHOW UP. ATTENTION SENIORS • The representative from Herff-Jones will be here Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd to distribute caps and gowns. • He will be in the Closed Commons during lunch both days, and after school on April 1st until 3:00 p.m.
The Senior Class Photographs • The Senior Class is collecting photographs for the Senior Night Power Point. If you have digital photos, please e-mail them to Becca Lowe at beccajlowe@gmail.com Print photos should be brought in to school and given to either Mrs. Hayward in 2201 or Mrs. Meader in 1211. Please write the student's name and either the English or first period teacher on the back of each picture. We will scan them and return them. We are looking for photos of current JRHS seniors in elementary, middle, or high school. Large group shots such as the 3rd grade class or the soccer team do not show up well.
ATTENTION SENIORS!!! • Please bring all college acceptance lettersandfinancial aid/scholarship award letters to Mrs. Davenport in the School Counseling Office. • This information is needed to create the “Senior Roll Call” bulletin board that will be posted after Spring Break and for other graduation activities. • Also FYI, Senior Surveys are slated to be administered by your English teacher the last week of April.
Attention Juniors • The deadline for the May 2 is Tuesday, March 31. You can register for the test on-line by visiting either the College Board website at www.collegeboard.com, or the School Counseling Office to pick up a SAT registration booklet. • Additionally, Horizons Education will be offering a SAT Improvement Course at Midlothian HS beginning Monday, April 13. The price for this six-class program has been reduced to $199. Interested students can register for the course at www.horizonseducation.org. Questions? See your school counselor.

Attention Students • The initial deadline to apply for a course at the Chesterfield Technical Center is Friday, April 3. • Please note that applications will still be accepted AFTER April 3, but a decision on these later applications will be delayed until action is taken on the applications of students who apply by the April 3 deadline. • Students who need an application are asked to visit the School Counseling Office to pick one up. Peer Facilitator Applications • The Peer Facilitator Program is still accepting applications. There is limited space in this special Sociology class, so act now! • A Peer Facilitator is someone who: • Is a good listener • Is trustworthy and honest • Gets along with diverse people • Enjoys meeting new people • Cares about others and supports others in encouraging ways • Enjoys learning about sociology and psychology • Visit the School Counseling Office to pick up an application today!

Student Mock Wedding • It's the happiest of all happy week activities - the Personal Development Student Mock Wedding ! Students in periods 1 and 7th will be going through the motions - flowers, vows and all on Thursday, April 2 (1st period) and Friday, April 3 ( 7th period). • Students outside of the class are invited only if I have received an email from you allowing permission for them to attend. • Visiting students will not be allowed to attend the reception. The ceremony should last about 40 minutes.
Art Mystery • Solve the art mystery and get in touch with American art! • Stop by the National Art Honor Society table at lunch to pick up a clue sheet, then find the answers on the posters of American art hanging in the library. Return the clue sheets to find out if you solved the answers. • All correct sheets will get a piece of candy and will be entered into a drawing to receive cupcakes for you and your friends on Thursday at lunch.
