  2. Television’s humble beginning • The television was developed during the 1920’s • It was perfected in the 1930’s and used an iconoscope camera tube. • Signals received in analog

  3. Progress of the television • The first color television program was introduced by CBS in June of 1951. • During 1962, the first public telecommunications satellite, Telstar, enabled the airing of live programs.

  4. Innovations in television • In the 1980’s Projection televisions are introduced, the first step in producing large screen televisions, with dimensions ranging between 50 and 70 inches. • In 1983 first digital signals are sent.

  5. Modern day televisions • In 1990 all digital high definition television system is proposed. • The 1990’s produces a variety of high-tech television systems • High Definition Televisions • Plasma screen televisions • Flat screen televisions • Even portable televisions for the car are introduced

  6. The future of televisions • While many advancements have been made in the quality of television pictures, screens, and signal reception, this is only the beginning. • A merging of computers with televisions is next on the horizon. It has not quite happened yet, although both were introduced in the same decade.
