  3. A person with a bleeding disorder will bleed more often. TRUE FALSE People with bleeding disorders have difficulty with their blood clotting and may bleed longer than normal.

  4. When would you call the parent/guardian if the child has a surface cut or nose bleed? If bleeding does not stop after 20 minutes.  

  5. If bleeding does not stop after 20 minutes and parent/guardian or emergency contact cannot be located. When would you call 911/EMS if the child has a surface cut or nose bleed?

  6. List the symptoms of a head injury. • Loss of consciousness • Drowsiness • Dizziness • Irritable • Confused • Nausea and/or vomiting • Dilated or unequal pupils • Headaches • Unsteady gait

  7. What would you do if the child suffered an injury to the head, neck, chest or abdomen? Call 911/EMS. Do not move the child to prevent further injury, unless child is in an unsafe place. Notify parent/guardian. Provide medical personnel with copy of FactorFirst card, if available.

  8. The child may have activity restrictions depending on the severity of their bleeding disorder. In general, restrictions for children with bleeding disorders include: a) No participation in sports b) Possible restriction from contact sports c) No aspirin product
