  7. A Pain Relief specialist is a Health Professional that has had advanced training in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of various kinds of pain. Pain can come in many forms and be caused by several reasons. Now that advancements in medicine have allowed us to learn more about pain and its complexities, it has now become imperative to have health professionals with special knowledge and skills to treat it. Knowledge in its physiology, ability in specialized tests, and skill in performing procedures are just some of the main tasks of a pain relief specialist. Aside from this, we are also seeing a much wider range of pain treatments available today. Pain Relief Specialist

  8. Advanced Diagnostic Testing The Myovision Surface EMG is similar to an EKG for the heart. It uses a hand held instrument that are placed over the spinal muscles of the neck and back to identify the exact location of abnormal muscle activity. It allows us to see exactly where in the spine there is lack of or excessive function. Also it detects imbalances in the spine by illustrating the difference in the level of activity between the left and right side of your back.  We then focus on restoring proper function to these areas so you can thrive again and live pain free.

  11. Neck Pain Is your neck stiff and sore in the morning?  Is It hard for you to turn your head all the way from side to side or forward or backward?   Do you get sharp pinching or shooting pains when you turn your head? Neck pain affects millions of people each day. It’s usual causes can range from sports injuries, car accidents, overuse, sudden movement, sleeping in an awkward position, to arthritis, an old injury or spinal or emotional stress. Any sudden movement, such as sneezing, coughing, turning your head suddenly, or whiplash can overstretch or tear the muscles or ligaments that hold the joints in place. This can cause swelling, inflammation, and muscle imbalance which allows the bones in the neck (vertebrae) to move and irritate the nerves.

  12. Back Pain Back pain is a very common condition, affecting about 80% of Americans and being a leading cause of disability worldwide. Although painful and uncomfortable, it is not usually serious. Back pain can affect people of any age but it is significantly more common among adults aged between 35 to 55 years. Back pain often develops without any specific cause that your doctor can identify with a test or imaging study. Some of the common conditions linked to it are: 1. Strained muscles 2. Strained ligaments 3. A muscle spasm 4. Bulging or ruptured disks 5. Arthritis 5. Skeletal irregularities 6. Abnormal curvature of the spine 7. Osteoporosis

  13. Sciatica Sciatica is a term that refers to the painful inflammation of the sciatic nerve, the longest and largest nerve in your body.  Sciatica comes from the Latin word meaning “hip”.  Your sciatic nerve extends from your buttocks all the way down to your toes!  Your sciatic nerve is formed from five nerve roots in your lower back which join together deep in the pelvis.  From there, the sciatic nerve divides into many branch nerves that serve your muscles, joints, skin, and other tissues in your legs and feet.  Sciatica flare-ups may or may not involve back pain; the pain can be “referred” to other areas.  Sciatica sufferers, however, often have a history of low back pain.

  14. A relatively common injury, whiplash is a neck injury brought about by forceful and rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck. A whiplash injury refers to damage to both the soft tissues and bone structures of the neck. Some of its most common symptoms include neck pain, shoulder pain, headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, arm pain and visual disturbances. If left untreated whiplash associated disorders may develop anxiety, stress, depression, anger, sleep disturbance and drug dependency.Years ago, whiplash patients were made to wear a cervical collar for a few weeks to limit neck movement and prevent additional injuries. But after several studies and tests, it was determined that early range of motion exercises allows for a more rapid improvement of symptoms from whiplash and immobilization could prolong recovery unless there is gross pathology involved. Whiplash

  15. Carpal tunnel is a common condition that causes Tingling, Numbness, Weakness, or Pain in the fingers or hand because of pressure on the median nerve in your wrist. These symptoms usually start gradually, mostly occurs in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of the ring finger. Sometimes narrowing of the carpal tunnel causes the median nerve to be compressed. The result may be weakness, numbness or pain in the hand and wrist, or occasionally in the forearm and arm. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a risk to most workers who work on the computer. Others at risk receive micro-traumas to their hands and wrists on a daily basis due to clumsy positioning, forceful and continual movements, and stressful activity. Carpal Tunnel

  16. Headaches When was the last time you woke up saying, “Wow!  I feel great!”  How long has it been since you were headache-free?  Close your eyes and imagine what it would be like to start and end your day without a headache.  It can happen!  Join the millions who have realized that they don’t have to suffer from headaches anymore, with chiropractic! Maybe you’ve had headaches for so long that you accept them as something you have to live with.  The truth is, you DON’T have to live with headaches.  The key to stopping your headaches is to finding their exact cause.  That’s what chiropractic is all about.  The first – and most important – step you can take is to visit a trained health care professional who will take your headaches seriously.

  17. Shoulder Pain The shoulder is one of the largest and most complex joints in the body. When something is wrong with your shoulder, it hinders your ability to move freely and can cause pain and discomfort. This pain may arise from the shoulder joint or from any of the surrounding muscles, ligaments or tendons. There are many factors and conditions for shoulder pain. The most common cause is rotator cuff tendinitis. It is caused by inflamed tendons. Another common cause is an impingement syndrome sometimes called swimmer’s shoulder or thrower’s shoulder. It is caused by the tendons of the rotator cuff becoming impinged as they pass through the shoulder joint.

  18. Knee Pain Knee Pain is a very common problem and often occurs during sports or recreational activities. It can be caused by a sudden injury, or by an underlying condition such as arthritis or osteoporosis, but more surprising symptoms may develop from everyday wear and tear, overuse, or injury. It can affect people of all ages and include swelling, stiffness and pain. A sudden injury may be caused by a falling on the knee, direct blow to the knee or from abnormal twisting, many times bending the knee or when the knee forcefully hits an object. Pain, swelling or bruising may develop within minutes of the injury. In sudden injury, nerves or blood vessels may be injured and feels week or cold or look pale or blue.

  19. The ankle, is considered a large joint but it consists of 3 joints plus the surrounding anatomic region, including the lower end of the leg and the start of the flat part of the foot. Ankle pain refers to any type of pain or discomfort in your ankles. This pain could be caused by an injury, like a sprain, or by a medical condition, such as arthritis. Ankle pain can be associated with symptoms including: Ankle Pain ankle swelling, bruising, redness, numbness or tingling, stiffness, and weakness instability, burning pain and inability to bear weight on the affected ankle. Ankle pain and injuries are more common in athletes and active adults. When the ankle does not function properly and has burning pain, swelling, brushing, redness and weakness, it can affect the entire body. The typical treatment for ankle pain is rest, ice, compression and elevation.

  20. Elbow Pain If you have elbow pain, several disorders could be the culprit. Overuse and sports injuries cause many elbow conditions. For example, golfers, tennis players, boxers and baseball pitchers often have elbow disorders. Elbow disorders may involve arm muscles, elbow ligaments, tendons, and bones in the arm and the treatments for the condition depend on the underlying cause. Elbow pain usually isn’t serious, but because you use your elbow in so many ways, it can be very frustrating. Your elbow is a complex joint; it allows you to both extend and flex, as well as rotate your hand and forearm. Since most movements are a combination of these actions, you may sometimes find it difficult to describe exactly which movement brings on the pain.

  21. Pregnancy back pain During the course of pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes innumerable changes biochemically and structurally which can create postural strain and neck and back pain. A brief look at the anatomy of the spine provides insight as to why chiropractic adjustments can facilitate a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy. The vertebral column is a strong, flexible rod composed of a series of bones called vertebrae which enclose and protect the spinal cord, support the head, and serve as an attachment for the ribs and muscles of the back. This “spine” is able to rotate and move anteriorily, posteriorily and laterally. The vertebral column shows four normal curves which increase its strength, help maintain balance in the upright position, absorb shock, and help protect the column from fracture.

  22. Car Accident Injuries If you or anyone you know has been in a car accident and ended up with back and neck pain, you might want to consider car accident treatment at a chiropractor. There are a few reasons why a chiropractor is your best option when this happens. Although many people, including your family physician, might tell you that back and neck pain just goes along with a car accident, it actually can cause serious problems down the road if it is not taken care of. Because family physicians do not specialize in the neck and back area, they are not able to pinpoint the actual problems you might be having.

  23. Slip and Fall Injuries Slip and fall injuries are a common type of accident injury. These can occur by slipping and falling on the floor, defective stairs or falling because of a rough patch of ground. In fact, thousands of people are injured each year and some may be very serious. When anyone slips or falls the impact they will mostly suffer to trauma to their bones, ligaments, head, muscles and nervous system. This may be very painful and resulting your body will not be functioning at its full potential. There are some types of Slip and Fall Injuries- 1. Head Injuries 2. Back and Spinal Cord Injuries 3. Broken Bones 4. Hip Fractures
