  1. How Does a Forklift Mast Work?

  2. STEP 1 The rotating gear in the hydraulic pump pulls hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic tank to the control valve. When the forklift operator turns on the engine, it supplies power to the hydraulic pump.

  3. STEP It stops the fluid flow to hold a component, like a lift carriage, bucket, etc., in place 2 The control valve manages the fluid flow to the hydraulic hoses or lines It starts the fluid flow to move components, such as lift forks up, extend the arm out, etc It controls direction by switching the flow to reverse action, like lower forks, retract arm, etc.

  4. STEP 3 When the pressure builds against the pistons within the hydraulic cylinders, it causes them to rise, pushing the mast rail upwards. The hydraulic hoses or lines are connected to the lift and tilt cylinder within the mast.

  5. STEP 4 Within the mast, chains are routed over a pulley system, connected to the forklift carriage. The chain pulley system ensures that the mast maintains its vertical orientation, allowing seamless lifting and lowering of loads. It provides synchronized guidance for the mast’s movement.

  6. STEP 5 As the cylinders raise and the mast rails are extended, the chains apply force to the carriage, lifting the forks and the attached load. All the components of the mast ensure that the movement remains stable and controlled. It is crucial for preventing accidents and maintaining the integrity of the load.

  7. Titan Forklifts uses 3-stage mast to achieve significant vertical reach, allowing access to low-clearance areas, and offering versatile uses. https://titanlifttrucks.com/ Learn More info@titanlifttrucks.com 844-938-4826
