  2. eerie • Adj-inspiring fear or uneasiness The haunted house was eerie, and I did not want to enter.

  3. queried • V-to question “What was that sound?” I queried.

  4. differentiate • V-to make or become distinct I cannot differentiate between greens and blues sometimes.

  5. consternation • N- great agitation or dismay Failing tests gives my parents great consternation.

  6. amiable • Adj- friendly; good-natured I was very amiable to the new girl in school since she didn’t know anyone.

  7. terse • Adj-brief and to the point I get very terse when I am aggravated.

  8. blurted • V-to say suddenly or impulsively I got in trouble for blurting out the answer in class.

  9. coiffure • N- a hairstyle After going to the salon and getting a new coiffure, the woman went and got a mani and a pedi.

  10. tittered • V-laugh nervously The boys tittered at the thought of wild animals while camping in the woods.
