  3. Camera Angles • Camera angles determines both audience viewpoint and area covered in a shot • Choice of angle can position the audience closer to the action, farther away, higher, or lower

  6. Composition • Arrangement of objects or subjects within the frame. • Interesting lighting • Simple, but interesting • Composition reflects personal taste.

Cutting • Visual transition from one shot to another • Guides the telling and the pace of a story • Film editing may be compared with cutting, polishing and mounting a diamond. • Both diamonds and films are enhanced by what is removed • Less is often more • Avoid jarring visual inconsistencies.

  16. Continuity When Batman is interrogating The Joker, we can see The Joker's suspenders on his left shoulder. The scene cuts to Batman, then in the next shot of the Joker from the same angle the suspender is back under his vest and can no longer be seen.

  17. Continuity The cooling ducts on the side of Bruce Wayne's Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 are closed at the beginning of the scene and are open immediately following a cut. They are motorized but take time to open and close.
