  1. How dangerous was the Revolt of the Northern Earls of 1569? Own ‘depends on questions’.

  2. Starter • ‘D’ and ‘ND’ analysis of the Simon Schama video and the narrative (p66/7 of Simpson) • Who am I game based on the main protagonists on p166 of SHP

  3. Main 1 • Analyse the causes and aims of the rebellion and their danger using sources 17.5, 17.6, 17.7, 17.8, 17.11 & 17.12. • Do the same with the events of the rebellion using 17.9, 17.10, 17.13 & 17.14

  4. Main 2 • Read the events of the timeline of the rebellion (p167 SHP). Decide if you think ‘dangerous’ or ‘not dangerous’ and produce a tabloid headline which encapsulates the event and your view.

  5. Main 3 • Consider the response of the government on p170 of SHP. How dangerous did the Elizabethan government perceive the rebellion to be? • Study the reasons for the rebellion’s failure at the top of p168 of SHP. Prioritise and justify.

  6. Main 4 • TV style documentaries representing the 2 distinct interpretations. • Remember the techniques to get information across.
