  2. What do we mean by the Learning & Development (L&D) Pathway? • UK competency based programme of learning and development and mentorship • Delivered to quality assured standards • Learning outcomes and mentorship practice standards mapped to RCN role descriptors and ENTO standards

  3. How will the member experience the pathway? RCN Member Becoming Active in an RCN role described through an RCN role descriptor Developing as an Active Learner through accessing learning and development to agreed standards across the UK Being Active through demonstrating learning against the RCN role descriptor within a learning portfolio Staying Active by being supported by an RCN mentor, to agreed mentorship standards across the UK, and demonstrating competence against the RCN role descriptor, within a practice portfolio

How will the member experience the pathway? • Module 1: five day programme • Days 1-3 facilitated learning • Day 4 supported learning/ group work to develop portfolio • Day 5 facilitated learning • Module 2: five day programme • Days 1-3 facilitated learning • Day 4 supported learning/ work based • Day 5 facilitated learning

  5. What assessment is required as part ofthe Representatives Continuing Professional Development? • Evidence that the knowledge and skills outcomes of the programme have been met through completion and ‘sign off’ of a learning portfolio by the LDF • Evidence that the mentorship practice standards have been met

  6. How will mentorship be provided? • Within the context of a formal mentorship relationship within set mentorship standards and a mentorship contract • Templates for mentors/mentees • Agreed minimum 6 hours mentorship • Supporting resources can be found on web site

  7. What can a RCN representative expect from mentorship? • To receive support to complete the learning outcomes of Modules 1 & 2 (mapped to ENTO standards / RCN role descriptors) • To receive support to achieve the RCN mentorship practice standards (mapped to ENTO standards / RCN role descriptors.
